Another new face on the sofa next weekend...Jenny Hill is to make her Breakfast presenting debut on Sunday, with Jon Kay.
Interesting! You can't knock Salford for not giving us some variety. Jenny has had extensive presenting experience in the past at BBC Look North, so I expect there shouldn't be many problems at all. It's just a question of chemistry/personality, but she always seems very chirpy at the earliest possible hour covering the most unusual of stories (this morning was giant marrows and onions), so I'm sure she'll be great.
Bill Turnbull has only gone and taken Aled Jones' presenting gig at Songs of Praise! Really clever choice. Bill is very well liked, is professional and has a very warm, inviting personality. Plus, it's a bit provocative too! He'll be great!
EDIT: Jones is not leaving, just reducing the number of programmes he's doing because of his other work commitments. Ann Widdecombe also joining! It's produced in Salford, so not a far trip from the Breakfast sofa for Bill.

Naga Munchetty is on GMT today on BBC World. Without wishing to sound like a broken record, but she is a really excellent news presenter. Whether on TWT, GMT, World News or Breakfast, her versatility is very evident and has great connectivity with the viewer.
For those of you who know/knew Shereen Nanjiani of STV News, you'll know what I mean when I say that Naga is like a BBC News version of Shereen. Likeable and respected. She speaks, we listen. Serious and light when needed. Authoritative as well.
I hope she gets a higher profile role on BBC World News in future with her own branded programme. I can think of one or two slots wherein I would like to see her replace certain others.
Also worth a quick mention: Philippa Thomas did The Hub last night. She's also a good one. And, the perpetually Ubercool Sara Coburn was also on World this morning. She hasn't changed one bit in twenty years of news reading.
Julia Somerville back on the evening news tonight - I thought the BBC had decided to ditch her from news as she's not been on for so long! Glad to see her back.
Julia Somerville doing the Weekend news this evening. How long has she been doing this shift?
She made her first appearance on BBC1 bulletins on a Saturday back in early 2011. Since then, she's presented the weekend bulletins on and off, alternating with other presenters, although as DrewF says above this is the first time she's appeared on screen in months.
I wonder if we'll see Julia on the News Channel again anytime soon?
