Hmmmph! I still thought it was Orla Guerin! (everything said in jest, so no offense intended to anyone).

SRS: who is the Ice Queen you're referring to?

Why did you think it was Orla Guerin?!?! LOL.

The Ice Queen - Anita McNaught?

Kasia Madera again for you lucky folks in the UK. And she will be interviewing a puppy on the set soon! Grrr. Woof. Woof.

Holiday Season. That's the reason!

Naga Munchetty will be doing the 8am slot on World all this week, in place of David Eades.
David Eades will be doing the GMT slot on World all this week, in place of Messrs Alagiah and Sackur.
Big Komla Dumor and Martine Dennis will be doing the 5am slot all this week. Sally Bundock on Friday maybe.
Sue Thearle is in Magaluf.
Karin Giannone also away for a few weeks.
Im here.

Just seen a report from Navdip Dhariwal on the News Channel. Don't think I've seen a report from her for a long time! The most we see of her is on the TOTH countdowns!

Lucy Hockings did Impact and The Hub on World yesterday. Holiday season. That's the reason.

... And Tanya Beckett also did a double shift. She presented both World News Today and Business Edition.

Another doubler: David Eades with GMT and The Hub on World News. It's holiday season, that's the reason!

I'm actually really enjoying this pairing this evening! It's like mother and daughter Laughing I think Fiona is absolutely brilliant on BBC News; she's settled into rolling news wonderfully. She's so at ease with the autocue, interviewing and dealing with technical difficulties. I can see why Fiona is used much more frequently than Julia Somerville and Carole Walker, both of whom are much more robotic and lifeless.

Fiona Armstrong is perfect for the News Channel. She's very warm and welcoming and handles the serious news very well. I'd actually like her to get a full time slot on the channel. She's working well with Ellie Crisell and I imagine they could present together for a few days this week?

Julia Somerville is great on BBC One news and shouldn't appear on the News Channel. I'd like Julia to start relief presenting on maybe BBC News at One, Six and appear more frequently on weekend news.

Carole Walker should stick to the reporting - not a great presenter, lacks any emotion and isn't great with rolling news. I suppose she just gets the job done when they're short staffed like last week.
