You three all beat me to it! Was going to post my critique of him.

Naga has proven that you need both a sense of humour and a serious sense of news. She has both and that's why she works and is so perfect on the programme. She's made an effort to bring lighter elements to the programme when appropriate but he's not having anything of it!

Tim Muffett, on the other hand, has had a complete bypass of personality, is channeling the seriousness of Peter Sissons in his (misguided) authoritative manner and tone of voice (or alike) and has not made any effort to interact or have any form of 'banter' with Naga.

Perhaps Tim is a bit nervous, but I don't want to see him again on the programme. I complain occasionally about Roger Johnson, but at least you can have a laugh with him.

Honest, but he really grated with me this morning, especially since Roger, Simon and Jon all do a much better job. We can hope for better next weekend.

Will post clips later on my YouTube channel of the programme.

I didn't have a problem with him presenting the headlines and I thought his interviewing skills were very good.

But he needs to chill out and smile a little bit more, this programme is meant to set me up for the day. I don't want miserable Tim imprinted on my mind. He would need to be more chatty and conversational.
He also looks awkward and uncomfortable when sitting on the sofa.

Tim was a change but not a nice change and I wouldn't want to see him next weekend.
Graham Satchell next?

You're spot on with your second paragraph. Naga really captures the good feeling needed for a Breakfast presenter.

Tim wasn't really given many people to interview and Naga clearly took the lead - Tim asked the first question and Naga conducted most of the interview, from the few I saw this morning.

Even though it is serious news during the headlines, he appeared to be overly serious to the point of being robotic. These are human stories after all and some more intonation and emphasis would have been better.

I wouldn't want to see him again. From the Sunday presenters, I'd say Jon has been my favourite. Jon and Naga work really well together. Above all, I think Naga is just a perfect fit for the programme and I just hope they continue to prioritise her as a relief presenter.

Oh my goodness. Orla Guerin and Naga Munchetty! That's the oddest pairing I've ever seen on Breakfast. Thanks for posting your video of them, aconnell. So, when does Orla fly back out to Pakistan, or is she doing Breakfast for a few weeks?

Thank God I don't live in the UK.

Deborah MacKenzie! Where have you been? Welcome back!

Wasn't the last time Deborah on UK screens, during last years summer riots with her famous line (as Andy Moore was being attacked) 'Andy we're going to leave it there...'.

Go back to page 537!?!

What do you think this is? ...some kind of intelligent forum where people pay attention to whats already been said in previous posts and then make an educated and informed response?

You previous page reading liberals make me sick... go back to where you came from... Interested-in-recent-history Land or whatever...

... and while were at it, bring back Doily Osman and the Ice Queen.

Here's my video of Tim from this morning on Breakfast.

From the bits I saw, I'd say at the minute he's coping. Bit nervous, bit monotonous but nothing that can't be rectified over time as he gains experience, should he ever present again. I think I'm right in saying the only presenting experience he has is doing overnight shifts on News 24/World around 6 years ago, so he perhaps needs more practice. But at the moment, I think he should stay well away from presenting Breakfast, a programme designed to ease viewers into a new day and which requires some warmth and charisma from its presenters. Jon, Roger and Simon are much better relief presenters.

Maybe give him some relief shifts on the News Channel or World News. I think for now his more somber style will suit that more.

Hmmmph! I still thought it was Orla Guerin! (everything said in jest, so no offense intended to anyone).

SRS: who is the Ice Queen you're referring to?

Some flip flopping on BBC World this morning:

Komla Dumor on the 5am shift. Naga Munchetty on the 8am shift, the latter being from the David Eades Pod.
