Michael! Michael! LOL. ROTFLMAO.

(But I think that comment would have evoked a Whoosh! And, after all, it could be a stage name. After all, Harry Webb turned out to be actually Cliff Richards, the brother of Wendy.)

Back to presenters and rotas: what is Maxine Mawhinney wearing and should we set up a separate thread for her wardrobe roster?

With the special Olympic presentation coming to end, one thing that really stood out is they had very fixed and consistent rotas. We didn't get Tim on World at all while I see he's been a regular on News Channel along with Ben Brown. By the way, who else presented from the Olympic set for News channel?

On World , I think Karin presented the most from the Olympic set, both on weekdays and in her normal weekend afternoon shift. Even Mishal did full weeks, we also got a lot of Ross Atkins and Lucy Hockings on weekdays. I expect a usual mix up of presenters when they return to BBC HQ.

Nik Gowing, surprisingly, did full weeks, apart from last night when Lucy Hockings filled in for him. Zeinab Badawi also did more than usual.

Only David Eades and Lyse Doucet were completely absent from World. Lyse, being in Syria and David being a roving Olympics Correspondent.

I do rate Fiona Bruce as a newsreader, it has been good to see her present most nights (if not all?) during the Olympics.

Agreed, she does have an outstanding ability to move between light-hearted, jovial news and sadder, serious stories as was demonstrated in the bulletin just now...

I think she's actually one of the best newsreaders they have, especially given that she usually only appears on Fridays. It's also been really nice to see Mishal Husain fronting Olympics coverage - she's done some good interviews while managing the lighter elements well, and had some great chemistry with Matt Baker (who, too, was surprisingly good).

So I'm not sure why, given the presenters rarely interview or report for their bulletins, it's George and Huw on the six and ten when the likes of Fiona Bruce, Mishal Husain and Sophie Raworth are so much better?
