Sally did, however, also mention that Komla will be back soon, so I am not sure if that means he will split his week, with some days on TWT and the rest of the week on FOA?
Do we know if FOA is a continuing commitment, or is it a pilot?

I don't know, actually. But BIG KOMLA is anchoring the London end of The Hub tonight, with Lyse Doucet rapidly dispatched to Beirut to cover the Syria developments.
I'm guessing that members of the normal Salford sports team will be rehearsing at the Olympic Park over the next week or so, which may explain why freelancers such as Mandy Henry in the studio and Karthi Gnanasegaram reporting from the Golf.
Tim Willcox out on his own on the evening shift tonight. Wonder what they will do for the 21:30 segment - suspect it'll be Chris Eakin or the on duty World presenter.
On BBC World a few seconds ago, World News Today anchor, Zeinab Badawi, handed over to Lyse Doucet in Beirut for further coverage of the Syrian events. Lyse then went on to introduce a few other items.
However, during the handover from Zeinab to Lyse, Zeinab stated something along the lines of: "for more on this story, we cross over to our Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet, in Beirut".
Lyse is officially the CIC?
I guess this renders her the BBC equivalent to CNN's Christiane Amanpour? Indeedy.
Who is the head anchor(s) for BBC News and BBC World News? In the way Trevor McDonald was the head for ITV News and Mark being the current head.
Well for BBC World it was always Nik Gowing. He was always the one they brought in for major breaking news, e.g. Diana's death, September 11th. I assume he's still considered number 1.
Actually, although he is probably still regarded as the Senior Anchor on World, Nik barely appears on the channel and rarely anchors events in the way that he used to.
The last big story that I recall him being "drafted in" for was the Japanese Tsunami last year. And at that time, he was drafted into the studio, as opposed to being sent on location.
More often than not, his programme The Hub is presented by other anchors (this week, we've had Lyse Doucet and Komla Dumor doiing three days between them and Nik has done one day).
For big outside events (Royal weddings, Olympics, Elections and big Foreign stories), we are more likely to see either Lyse Doucet, Mishal Husain or Tim Willcox on location. The only time we tend to see Nik out of the studio these days is for the annual foray into Davos.
The BBC World Facebook Masthead kinda summarises who the channel considers to be it's senior faces/names, Nik is amongst them. But he's not used by World anywhere near the same extent that he used to be, or in the manner in which Sky, ITN and BBC Network utilise Messrs Thompson, Wilson, Austin, Edwards or Alagiah.

ITV's situation is a little more complex than you describe - although Mark Austin is obviously a higher-ranked presenter, you could argue that Alastair Stewart is above him, having presented the 2010 Election coverage. You could also say Julie Etchingham is a lead presenter.
Yes you could say that, but they kept Alistair at the regions for years before bringing him to the national, and well...Mark did tweet that Julie was 'Queen Bee' or ''Head Honcho' or something like that!

Of course two of the greatest news presenters never went national - Mike Neville and Richard Whiteley.
