They could double head with someone to make it a bit easier on him. Must be someone knocking around the newsroom. I remember Alastair Yates coming on and double heading with Stuart Flinders one night when a big breaking story happened.

Any thoughts as to if the News channel will roll independently from BBC World News for a while tonight? I.e. coming from N6?

Hilarious! Martine Dennis carries on calmly whilst Deborah MacKenzie gets her make-up done on set! Celina Hinchcliffe almost pulls open her double breasted jacket in the midst of a summer heatwave at News 24. Valerie Sanderson pops out to the loo. And Mike Bushell (I think that's his name) is caught unawares celebrating a nice goal from Emile Heskey..................fast forward to 2:00 on the clip.

I remember seeing that Martine Dennis/Deborah McKenzie clip happen live. It was during The World Today in c. 2002. While BBC World took a commercial break, News 24 used to return to N8 for a quick UK round-up and weather forecast, presented by the overnight newsreader. On that particular morning, the vision mixer accidentally cut to the N8 output and showed Deborah McKenzie putting her make-up on to the entire world!
