Alan Johnston reporting from Italy at 6. I havent seen him reporting in a long time, although researching suggests he has been the Rome Correspondent since late 2011.
Has he been on World, not seen a mention of him.

He's the one, but wasn't it in Gaza, not Libya?

Yes, Alan Johnson has been appearing on BBC World News as Rome Correspondemt for several months now. He took over from Duncan Kennedy, who is now based in Sydney.

This was the first time I can recall seeing him on the nationals since his move. But he has been on Radio 4/World Service/ News Channel a lot.

I *think* he was on the Six O'Clock News a week or two ago when the first earthquake struck in Italy. I can't be certain, but I do remember I was sat eating my tea at the kitchen table when he was on and I usually watch the Six at that time. I do have access to BBC World but only in the living room, so I don't think I saw him on there recently.

Surely he must have been on a national bulletin during the Costa Concordia tragedy?

As there are two Italy correspondents and others were brought in he might have stuck mainly to radio. They would have been using all available correspondents for a big disaster so it is possible he could have avoided the nationals. However in all likelihood he would have made some appearances.

A quick google suggests she normally works for LFCTV (Liverpool Football Club TV) and has also reported for Setanta occasionally.

On another note Martine Croxall has tweeted she that she will be doing her first OB for some time tomorrow, covering the appearance of Jeremy Hunt at Leveson.
