Jane co-anchoring from the torch relay at 10 with Maxine in the studio. Louise was also on location for breakfast.

Who presented Breakfast in place of Louise?

No one. Charlie presented solo in the studio.

Ben Brown also reporting from Munich for the Champions League final, for a reason that I am unable to fathom.

Well, Dan, the Champions League Final *is* taking place in Munich! It would be a tad pointless sending him to report from The Isle of Wight, would it not?

He would probably get a better vibe in Munich.

Just saying. Wink

LOL. I just meant it's completely pointless sending Ben Brown to report on a story which an average sports reporter would be just as capable of. If they needed an anchor on location for it, why not send Adam Parsons, a former sports news correspondent and generally all round decent presenter? Wink

I agree. I am a supporter of presenters on location as I do feel it adds to the rolling news feel. Jane at the torch relay did make sense. I may not be a big sports fan, but I don't really view the Champions League final as an event you would need to send a news anchor to, or even a news correspondent. Have they done this before?

I suspect Adam isn't 'allowed' to cover sports at the BBC after working in media and PR for sports companies. It could be argued he'd have a conflict of interest. I think that's the only reason Adam has appeared on News and Business on both channels, on diverse shifts, but not once on sport?

Did he not do a few sports bulletins (pre-Salford) on the news channel?

No - to my knowledge Adam hasn't done a single sports bulletin on the News Channel since he returned to the BBC almost a year ago. Just news and business. The only time he covers sport these days is whenever he's doing the paper review on the late shift.

Does anyone know who is presenting in N8, on the screen in the gallery? To me, it looks like Naga Munchetty, but she wasn't at the BBC when those pictures were taken in April 08.

That would be Navdip Dhariwal (alongside Tim Willcox), a now former BBC foreign correspondent who presented a few relief shifts on BBC News 24 in the early part of 2008.

Rachel Hodges on the news channel tonight. They would have been better to send her than Ben Brown to Munich!

I agree, being a sports as well as news presenter, Rachael would have been far more ideal to send to Munich.
