One report that it is for Sport/Scotland only. I guess we will have to wait for confirmation/denial of what is stemming from just one tweeter so far.

@jemstone is denying completely the Twitter rumour.

Edit: That said, I agree with Rob on issues like plans. I don't think it's that the rules were ever relaxed, so much as the rules haven't been clarified or enforced.

Yes, I think 10 years ago when all that existed in the way of internet discussion was message boards like TV Forum, it was a lot easier for the BBC to enforce its rules. And let's face it, the only BBC employees to visit TVF back then were those with an interest in presentation like the rest of us. However, the massive growth of Twitter has resulted in probably every BBC employee having an account, posting photos, and intereacting with the public. That must be an absolute nightmare for the BBC to watch and enforce, hence the new guidelines. From a commercial competitive intelligence perspective, it can't be good for the BBC if their rivals can openly see how they do things and what's in the pipeline. The same would apply to any business.

Kevin Bakhurst has retweeted, so this new guideline applies only to BBC Sport Scotland. Good news, apart from if you live in Scotland and like sport and like to tweet to the BBC about the latter.

How strange that's such a specific department. I wonder what's rattled their cage in order for them to issue such tight guidelines?

There was one tweet saying that the decision to do that was devolved. Possibly about Scottish football rivalries one tweet suggested. I'm not sure at all.

Good that's it's not for all, would be terrible and stupid to do.

With Vote 2012 beginning at 11.30 tonight will Chris Eakin still come in for an hour, or will whoever is on the evening (I think its been Adam Parsons most of the week) just continue?

Adam Parsons was on 8:30am shift this morning and has also been presenting business throughout the day, can't see him popping up again. Also, Chris Eakin has presented in the past hasn't he?
