It's noteworthy that Rachel Schofield is on the afternoon shift today instead of the 08:30-11:00 shift this morning, like she usually does on a Monday. Annita McVeigh was on this morning instead with Adam Parsons. Slightly unusual.
According to her twitter she is going to be doing every Monday from now on.
It was a natural progression I suppose since Louise left for Salford to do Breakfast and some relief work on 5 Live. It's probable that Kate Silverton will continue to appear every now and then.
Does this mean that Kate will appear more on the Saturday evening news? She did say she was going part time.

As Kate presents the Saturday evening news then I expect she will present that shift more often. She will still be a regular relief presenter on the One and on Breakfast. I hope she still appears regularly, but I would understand if she wants to cut her hours.

Adam is coming up again with Joanna Gosling.
And I thought *I* was having a Willcoxian day, too.............
Absolutely ridiculous new guideline. Completely non-sensical. I tweeted Adam Parsons about an hour ago to ask whether they were showing French election debate, and he replied very quickly indeed. I don't see what is wrong with that.
It is a sign of the times that Twitter is an essential part of newsgathering and reaching out to audiences. Bad, bad move, BBC.
Does this apply for personal use with friends/colleagues? The more you think about it, the worse it gets.

Whilst I agree in princple, I do see the BBC's point of view, Andrew. I've noticed a lot of BBC employees are sharing production techniques, revealing gossip/plans and posting lots of photos of studios/equipment etc. Whilst this is undoubtedly good for us pres fans, I can imagine the BBC not being happy about that. I can remember a time when the insiders on TVF were very cagey indeed - the most you ever got was a subtle hint that something might happen/change etc. And it was a big no no to post photos of studios etc. Since Twitter came along the rules seem to have slackened. Moreover, there's a huge level of blurring on Twitter between employees' professional and private lives. Are the opinions and replies to followers on Twitter personal views or the BBC's? I'm not saying the BBC's decision is right - certainly not for us pres fans - but I can at least see their perspective.
It's getting a lot of attention on Twitter. I know 'Trending Topics' aren't the best measure of success or popularity, but the term 'BBC Twitter' is third most popular at the moment.
If these reports are accurate (all I can find is that one tweet, and mentions of it) it'll be interesting to see how many journalists create an additional, private Twitter account, like the BBC's Rory Cellan-Jones. Unless they would be banned, which I can't imagine the BBC would have a legal right to do provided it was made clear on the accounts they were in no way associated with the BBC or the individual's work at the corporation.
That said, it would still be a huge shame if correspondents and journalists weren't allowed to reply or tweet 'at' the public.
Edit: That said, I agree with Rob on issues like plans. I don't think it's that the rules were ever relaxed, so much as the rules haven't been clarified or enforced.
