I don't think there's any reason to dislike Tim. I know he presents a lot more than other presenters do, but he's also one of the BBC's best. Not just at presenting, but also reporting. I like him, a consummate professional, and I'd sooner see him on screen than certain other newsreaders.
I know he's not too bad. Don't mind seeing him every know and then. I think he did a fantastic job covering the rescue of the Chilean miners. He presented coverage their with Matt Frei for hours straight. But I wouldn't go as far as calling him one of the BBC's best.
Naga Munchetty will be back on The World Today tomorrow morning, making it her sixth day on the trot. She did Breakfast Sat-Mon, then The World Today Tue-Thu. Saw her on Tuesday morning with Jamie Robertson whilst waiting for Breakfast from Salford to launch. Seems to have chemistry whoever she's on with, especially with Nicholas Owen (best Breakfast pairing ever). Yet another committed BBC professional.
I would love to see Naga on the news channel. Last time she did a proper shift there was on 28th January 2011 with Tim. (Surprise ) I think she's improved so much and she seems to get on with Nicholas so well.
I notice a report on the News Channel today was from Rachel Harvey, when did she leave ITV News?
Not sure if she ever has worked for ITV. She's been at the BBC since at least 2004 - I remember her providing early reports from the Indonesia after the Boxing Day tsunami.
I wonder if putting Tim in N6 at 11 o clock was always intended for today or was done as a precaution in case World News and the News Channel had to pool for coverage of the Indonesian earthquake had it triggered a Tsunami.
Last time she did a proper shift there was on 28th January 2011 with Tim.
You really worry me.
I think he used that "awesome" BBC News Presenters Site to help him remember the exact date she last did a proper shift and exactly who she presented with (although that's not difficult to guess who).
Loads and loads of two way interviews at the moment, showing again the world network of BBC correspondents. And live pictures from Pyongyang - not something we see every day.
