He also did the Saturday Ten. Is this his first outing as weekend presenter of the main BBC bulletins?

No, he did them a handful number of times in 2011.

And now he's back on this morning on the News Channel. What a man!

He may as well make the most of it, when the news channel goes solo for presentation - they will have to find slots for most of the presenters to present solo - so, he won't be on as much then I wouldn't have thought. You wouldn't get a radio presenter presenting on a single radio station for the amount of time Tim does - because the boredom factor would sink in with regards to the audience - I can't help but feel the same would happen on the news channel.

I would assume he thinks it 'boosts his presence on the news channel' when in fact it probably doesn't, because people only dip in and out of the news channel all day so probably won't notice. The most well known presenters/faces I'd place with viewers on the news channel would be Simon McCoy, Jane Hill, Matthew Amroliwala and John Sopel - I wouldn't even put Tim in that category.

But the News Channel is quite different to a lot of radio programs - your average person doesn't watch the NC because of the presenter, they watch it because they want to catch up on the news - where as a lot of radio programs focus around the presenter's personality. It might matter to some TVF people but it doesn't matter in the slightest to the average person!

Half the time they don't even put a name caption up on the News Channel, so many viewers won't know who he is anyway.

They're increasing the amount of time there'll be single headed presentation, not moving full time. I don't think, between the News Channel and World News, Tim will be hit that hard.

Thanks to TV Ark for this link.

Who is the presenter in the photo above Aaron Heslehurst?

And who is the Gent to the right of Nici Marx in the second line?

Triona Holden in the third row: don't recall her being a presenter on World?

Can't help you with the names I'm afraid - but as we've seen, there's plenty of odd presenters who have done BBC News 24 and BBC World over the years that tend to be forgotten. One is Maya Even and even Fiona Armstrong on the Breakfast slot on World back in 1993!

The gent in the second line, I believe, is Rob Butler who later moved to Channel 5 News when it launched in 1997.

Does anyone know what the main presenter line-ups have been over the years since BBC News 24 first launched? Just out of interest really. I'll start with the most recent and work backwards in time. If anyone can help me go back further that would be great.

That takes us back to around 2003. Like I say, if anyone can go back even further, that would be better. I know there was other regular presenters when N24 first launched, such as Ben Geoghegan, Gavin Esler, Sian Williams and Jackie Hardgrave.

Also, can anyone tell me what the weekend line ups were before 2006? I know around c.2005 the weekend presenters were Carrie Gracie, Maxine Mawhinney, Peter Sissons, Philip Hayton, Joanna Gosling, Chris Lowe amongst others, but what order did they come in in the weekend schedule?

Thanks in advance.
