I found it pretty disappointing too that Julia was not given the lunchtime news today when she is a better known face on bulletins. Doesn't support the theory that the BBC has improved it's way with over-50s women's presenters as I bet if Jane Hill or similar were with Tim, they would have done the bulletin.

Julian Worricker flying solo at 6pm. No Suelian then this week. Shame.

Also noticeable that for some reason Julia was the only presenter not to go solo today. Every other timeslot was single headed.

I imagine it'll be something to do with Julia's contract that she is to present a full week, and so she came alongside Tim for the normal shift. I'm not sure they would have her (or whether Julia would want to) present the News Channel alone, the fact that she always chooses to sit in the 'secondary' presenter seat shows she's probably not comfortable taking the lead on the channel.

But then that raises the question, why didn't she present the evening news on BBC One and Matthew present his normal shift single-headed?
I presume because that would only amount to half an hour on air - I'm 90% sure it'll be a contractual thing that she has to to X amount of shifts on the news channel and in x amount of weeks, hence why she showed up on the NC to dual head but the rest of the day was presented solo.
In other news - Rachael Hodges on the NC for the evening shift tonight. Bigger things coming for her I wonder?

I hope Rachael does get more shifts. She's great on Radio, but she has a face for TV. She's blocked me from following her on Twitter.
Did Gavin Grey do the morning shift on World this morning, or was he on the overnights? The website one minute summary is presented by Gavin, but he introduces it as BBC News rather than BBC World News.
