John Simpson just used the phrase "Argentina keeps banging on about The Falklands" in a report.

Now I am not the best at gramma (!) but I have to say that is not what I expect from any new channel in the UK.

I don't see anything wrong with it. He's only saying what we're all thinking Exclamation

It's a little colloquial for my liking, and a tad opinionated really. "Banging on" implies something negative.

Well, it is rather colloquial for a national news broadcast and 'banging' does have other connotations Laughing

EDIT - Great minds think alike, eh, Chris? Wink

Tim? Tim WHO? Oh that Tim. LOL

Mihir Bose was on the newspaper review a few weeks ago infact, with Adam Parsons.

He does the papers quite frequently, does he not? I've seen him quite a few times this year alone.

Just also spotted Sean Fletcher (former BBC Sport presenter) doing the Sports News on Sky News. The other week, Celina Hinchcliffe was also doing the same thing. Have Sky scooped up all the old BBC talent?

Was this in a package or a live report? I think it's probably okay in a live - but I'm not so sure if it was in a reflective, scripted report.

But then again, it's clear, common English - so perhaps it's okay...

I think he's been gone a while now, certainly before the end of last year.
