Maryam Moshiri on the Sunday Politics bulletin! Will she be doing the 1pm shift on the News Channel today?

It would be great if she does. She's a great presenter. Haven't seen her do anything but business bulletins for a long time. She's done a few 8pm updates but apart from that... Very Happy

Doubtful. She was probably in doing something else and they just bunged her on. I remember last time this happened they got Sangita Myska to do 12-12:30 and Tim nipped off and return at 12:30.

I think she mentioned on Twitter interviewing someone on BBC World News, so perhaps the Sunday Politics was after a shift on World News?

Yes. Maryam was doing the morning shift on World today. She's done it for quite a few of the last weekends. Martine Dennis is away. And so is Karin, it seems.

Yesterday we had Morris, Ghoddoosi and Dobbie.

Goodness Gracious Me. It is indeed midterm yet again.

The one and only Kasia Madera doing a weekend dayshift on World! Welcome along.

Kate Silverton makes her return to the News at One today.

Emily Maitlis doing quite a long shift today, doing the News at Five - 4 hours solid on air! She acknowledged it on Twitter saying some pick'n'mix and her producer have revived her Laughing

She's also put on a cardigan for the Five, she was wearing a very short-sleeved top beforehand. Seems odd for it to be appropriate for the News Channel but not the Five.

You're probably right.

John Simpson just used the phrase "Argentina keeps banging on about The Falklands" in a report.

Now I am not the best at gramma (!) but I have to say that is not what I expect from any new channel in the UK.
