Thanks for that, as I mentioned in the World thread, it's worth checking out that youtube channel, some great HQ clips from the mid noughties BBC News24/BBC World presentation.

That Youtube channel is just amazing. Some really good quality stuff on there from what I consider the 2nd best period for BBC News 24/BBC World pres.

Also, I never knew Ben Brown presented on BBC World!

...And the use of the knock off BBC World Logo on the trailer piece before hand. What is it with BBC News and the use of knock-off logos, we had it with the previous countdown sequence to the TOTH before Laura was removed.

Ben is also in N6 (the laminate floor era)!.

I can recall Ben Brown filling in at weekends on BBC World as early as 2001, if not 2000. He only did it very occasionally, but he certainly presented on BBC World long before he ever joined News 24. A similar position was held by George Eykyn in the 2002 period. Some of you may not remember him, but he, like Ben Brown, was a correspondent who occasionally relief-presented at weekends on BBC World.

Yes, and here's a very very small picture I've found of George Eykyn presenting on BBC World c.2001:

BBC Global News searching for a Chief Business Correspondent to further their international business coverage, to be based in East Asia.

Working primarily for international outlets such as BBC World Service and BBC World News. Appearances on domestic news are likely.

A DQF measure to strengthen international reporting in certain areas.

Details here on Ariel: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ariel/17368045

And from Media Centre (nearly the same): http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2012/int-business-coverage.html

I'm guessing that would work in a similar way to Chief Political Correspondent on the BBC News channel does - title referenced on the News Channel, referred to as a 'political correspondent' everywhere else. That way you'd avoid the confusion with Hugh Pym's role, assuming they have no plans to cut it.

Huw Pym's role is mainly UK business news though isn't it? This person would mainly report for World according to the article.

Hugh Pym is Chief Economics Correspondent anyway.

That was my point.

My mistake, misread it. Thought it was for a new Chief Economics Correspondent post.

Wonder if she'll be making any Breakfast appearances in Salford?

So many questions:

BBC World News talking to someone called Andy Scott who is astoned as BBC Correspondent. What does he normally cover?

Also, we have an Irish accented lady doing the business news today, in Aaron Heslehursts normal slot. Have never seen her before. Any ideas? Long haired and brunette. And Irish.

And finally......in the trail for our weekly catchmemt of Newsnight, is a presenter (male) whom we've never seen before. Any ideas who he is?

Ta much in advance friends.
