Kate presenting the News at One on a Friday, yet Louise presenting the 2-5 shift.....

Does seem slightly like Louise was suddenly promoted to being the main relief on the One and Breakfast while Kate did very little, whereas now it seems Kate is the preferred choice for both relief on the One and Breakfast. I hear she is covering for Sian when she goes on maternity leave, but I do still wonder why Louise wasn't on the One.

Also, why does Kate's job seem to be as maternity leave cover? It seems like she's gone from covering for Sian on maternity, to getting a few bits and bobs (such as a few weeks on the 8pm) to covering for Sophie on the one, to doing a few bits and bobs to covering for Sian. Would surely of been better keeping her on the BBC News Channel, taking her off it to cover for Sian/ Sophie, then putting her back on?

Hasn't Kate taken on a broader role including reporting for Panorama and doing other projects which may mean she is on screen less but have more longer term involvement in getting them to air.

So has Stuart been confirmed as the replacement for chris? If so, what will happen when he goes back to world?

World? Don't you mean North West Tonight?

He's not from World, he is on a 5 month placement type thing from North West Tonight.

Oops! I thought he was from world. Same question though really, if he is chris's replacement what happens when he goes back? Would it not be easier to just keep anita on her own since the rest of the Weekend is single-header anyway? I never really understood the double-header at nights

Stuart Flinders is an excellent broadcaster. He has the authority and the warmth (which North West viewers will know for sure).

I'm glad he's getting the exposure at the News Channel. I would like to see him sat on the Breakfast sofa, I reckon he'd be a credible stand-in / deputy for Bill and Charlie.

Watching Anita makes me fall asleep , I don't think she should anchor on her own.

If he does have some warmth I cant say Ive ever seen it on the news channel, not that the News Channel lends itself as much to that as regional news

How about Chris Eakin? I think it would be good if he had a co-presenter to bounce off...

He would be alright but if you moved him he would need replacing as well. Personally I think Stuart's placement will likely just be made permenant - I seem to recall Sophie Long was initially just on a six week attatchment.

Could anyone tell me what Maryam Moshiri is up to at the moment? Seems that Rachel Horne has replaced her on weekday afternoon business news.
