Im not a regular NC viewer but I watch Breakfast most mornings, has a replacement been announced for Sian?


It's been fairly widely reported Susanna and Louise will be the female presenters, but I don't expect anything to be announced. The BBC announced Sian as the new Monday-Friday presenter, though as part of the announcement Natasha Kaplinsky would stay put on the Six, but announced nothing about Bill, Susanna or Charlie getting their current positions. It may be to do with them being freelance, or because they didn't want to emphasize the change, but they didn't announce anything.

Mike Bushell doing the sport on the NC this morning/early afternoon. Can't remember the last time he did anything that wasn't at the weekend when he does Breakfast/NC - did he do Breakfast sport this morning?

He does weekday slots quite a lot actually and some evening slots. No, it was Chris on breakfast this morning.

I don't see why not. BBC1 needed short notice content. And if someone is rostered for the NC on weekend daytimes then they would probably be the only person able to handle an immediate BBC1 newsflash/breaking news coverage if it was required. So if they are good enough for that, they would have been good enough for half an hour on a Sunday lunchtime surely?

Also when BBC1 takes the NC at 9am on August Sunday's they don't seem too 'picky' about who the presenter is if Nicholas Owen is off/covering the evening news

I see the understated Adam Parsons is making a welcoming appearance on the News Channel tonight. Always comfortable viewing whenever he's on. A pleasure to watch.

Most likely in a nearby hotel.

Must say, I really really like the pairing of Ben Brown and Emily Maitlis. Not quite as good as Sopel and Maitlis, but still awesome to watch and they have had such a laugh and great rapport this afternoon!

Steph McGovern was ill too, hence Adam's last moment call-up for Breakfast yesterday. Unplanned.
