Philippa Thomas is being lauded over on Twitter for her coverage and live anchoring today outside the Lawrence sentencing in London. I didn't manage to see any of it at all.

Views of the actual story aside, did anyone see Philippa in action and was she as fantastic as Twitter is suggesting? I believe she probably was.

Both yesterday, and today for the sentencing, she clearly knew all the details of the case and was comfortable switching from interviewing one guest to another. So yes, she really did do a good job

Yes, I thought she did really well. Anchoring from the street with all the noise, speaking to guest after guest over the phone, never stumbling once (that I saw), can't be easy.

Is anyone in the studio at the moment? Since I tuned in at 2:30pm I've only seen Philippa Thomas(?) live on location.

Just after the 2.30 weather, they were about to do a headline recap, but instead crossed to Phillipa, who was clearly expecting an imminent verdict - she had to fill for a good 10-15 minutes before reporting restrictions could be lifted. That can't be easy in the first place, never mind going on to anchoring and interviewing!

Phillipa Thomas is absolutely brilliant at that, IIRC she did quite a lot of live anchoring from various inhospitable locations during the 2008 US Presidential elections.

I'll be sending an invoice. Don't worry.

And Sue Thearle doing the Sport? It's like 2007 all over again!

Rachel Horne, formerly of Working Lunch and she does the odd business shift on the NC, it has been quite a while though.

Juliette Foster doing the news on BBC World tonight. As I keep saying, she's bloody good. Wish we could see more of her on World.

Sky were stupid to let her go.

Totally agree. Unfortunately that will probably mean she'll get poached by CNN or AJE.
