N9 is the studio that BBC World used to use before April 2008, it is now used sometimes by World if they are having maintenance done in N8. N8 is the previous home of the BBC news channel which is now used by BBC World. The news channel now use N6. The news channel has used N9 in the past when N6 has been closed for maintenance. N9 has also been used for local and European election programmes.

It's interesting whenever Julia Somerville presents the Saturday news - that people on Twitter are surprised and happy that she is presenting! Not all, but mostly positive comments. She even wore a dark jacket for the late news, a thoroughly professional lady.

I really hope they give her a go at the One, Six or even the Ten soon, even as an occasional Friday stand in for Fiona Bruce.


Julia's on the News Channel this afternoon with Ben Brown. They work quite well together IMO.

Has Tim Willcox been on the News Channel on his own all evening? When I tuned in just before 9 he was solo.

EDIT: And now Tim's popped up in N8! What happened between 2115 and 2125? Did they just replay an interview from earlier, which is what I saw just before they went to the weather.

Can only wonder if this is producers testing out single-headed evenings. Didn't they do a couple of tests before weekend evenings went single headed?

Joanna Gosling was on with him earlier, in the right hand seat so she should have gone into N8.

After finishing replaying an interview they had a graphic then the weather

I could watch her forever. Really like her style in all respects. She was jokingly hugging herself during last nights WNT after a story about a hugging guru in India.

Zeinab comes across as a very cool and calm presenter, and handles all issues and errors very well.
