Who presented 8:30am and 11am shifts on NC today?

Also Louise Minchin covering Kate's maternity leave on the News at One.

It was Annita and Rachel at 8.30am and then Matthew and Julia at 11am

An unusual line up! Nice to see Julia back on the channel!

Ben Brown and Joanna Gosling on this evening. Also a rare and unusual pairing Wink

Goodness me, I could watch Zeinab Badawi presenting for ever..................she is one classy lady! Seems to know everything about everything.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it. Welcome to my World!

She only seems to do Mondays these days - has she been back to normal in these past couple of weeks?

Zeinab Badawi is doing GMT today as well.

And Naga Munchetty is doing GMT all next week. George must be away for an assignment or a wee break. Lucky him. Wonder who you'll get on the Six, if so, given that Kate Silverton is also off and Sue Lawley is retired?

Any bets?

It's normally Sophie Raworth of Fiona Bruce when George is away.

Or Mishal Husain. Occasional presenters Sian Williams, Emily Maitlis and Huw Edwards may also pop up and present the Six for us next week.

Or it may be Huw off and George is covering the six and ten.

I say let Jane Hill or Julia Somerville do the full week on it!

Ben and Joanna again tonight. Did they present yesterday?? If so then that would be 3 nights in a row. Shocked

Yes it has been - but Joanna and Ben almost always do Monday-Thursday on whatever shift they're on - although it has been a few months since Ben has done his normal shift with Joanna.

Last week in July to be precise.

It's been interesting to watch Annita McVeigh and Rachel Schofield together in the mornings this week. Also noteworthy that five of the regular news channel presenters are absent from screen this week!

Adam Parsons is doing Newsday overnight tonight.

Julia Somerville's experience in interviewing shining through on the NC - they're doing an interview with three people about elderly care and the questions she comes out with are excellent and detailed, not the usual generic questions you would expect from presenters like Ellie Crisell who was on yesterday.

Although she does tend to struggle to keep up on the NC, she is a very good journalist and newsreader and it's a shame we don't see her on more bulletins or television programs.
