Adam Parsons on the 9-1 shift this morning, which means he'll be doing the BBC1 simulcast summary at midday (no Politics Show again today)

He did the middle shift on World yesterday. He was rather good, in fact. Maybe he's the replacement for Sonali Shah at weekends??

I think Adam Parsons is rather good at this short bulletin, suits him well. Makes a change from Maxine Mawhinney, I think I'm the only one who thinks so but I think she's just so dull and dreadful.

I suspect that's because she's always presenting alone these days. When she used to co-present the weekday afternoon shift several years ago, she had a great rapport with Chris Eakin. I don't think there are many presenters who come across well when presenting on their own as they have no-one to interact with.

Is Matthew Price moving from Brussels to Rome to take over from Duncan Kennedy on BBC News? If not, anyone know who is taking over from Duncan?

I'm sure I read on here that Alan Johnston was returning to foreign reporting and heading to Rome?

Sorry, Woody. Yes you're right. It was posted on here earlier.

It's just Me, getting old!

Apologies if it's already been mentioned - but Celina Hinchcliffe is back from maternity leave. Is today her first day back or am I just very behind?

Strike me flamin handsome. Is Huw Edwards taking another week off?? He's only been back two weeks. What about George Alagiah, is he having a break this year? I don't think he's even had a full week off this summer, the poor fellow.

How do you know Huw isn't on some other assignment this week?

Huw is off filming the final week of his BBC Wales series.
It's The week that was cancelled after news events brought him back to London a few weeks ago.

You really have to understand that everytime you don't see people on the bullies - they are not always 'on leave'.

George has been away filming for a BBC 2 Special later this year, Sophie has had lots of Olympic commitments, and Fiona is as busy as ever with AR during the summer - and has also been filming her other BBC1 Specials.
