Zeinab Badawi is still away on WNT. Tonight, it's Lyse Doucet and Tim Willcox (or, at least, I think that's his name.........LOL.)
Yeah, I think his name's Tim Willcox (don't quote me on that though). The same guy (who I think you're referring to) was presenting on the News Channel this morning with Rachel Schofield and she was baffled as well (there's a clip on the News Channel thread). The guy soon got his own back though, by calling her Sally (referring to Sally Bundock I presume who he sometimes presents with when he makes sporadic appearances on The World Today).
Yep, he does do those announcements - he's got quite a voice for it too - extremely clear compared to others. He does the "This tram is for..." and "The next stop will be..." - I always find it quite funny! Another voice-over, a woman does the random announcements like "Oyster card holders..." and "Passengers for the Home Office should..."
I just can't get used to seeing a news presenter reading the news in a cocktail dress. In this particular case, Naga Munchetty is presenting The World Today in a little red number just now. As I am probably not an authority on ladies fashion, I may be wrongly labelling said item as a cocktail dress. However, it is the type of dress that one would expect to see Carrie Bradshaw and co wearing in New York whilst sipping Cosmopolitans!
Maybe one is getting too old............................
If any of you have access to BBC News at the moment, I would love your confirmation or rejection of my theory.
(Ironically, Naga just ended the bulletin by saying: "We'd love to hear what you think of what we are covering today". Well, in the case of that dress, not much!!!)
