No. No sarcasm at all. I just happen to think that Breakfast is the perfect programme for him.
Adam Parsons hosted Weekend Breakfast on BBC Radio 5 live two weeks ago, with Anna Foster. I agree: in my view he is perfect for breakfast programming. I think some viewers won't believe he's suited to mornings since half the time he's presenting late in the evening.

Curious that you don't get Breakfast on BBC World. And that you happen to watch BBC World. And any appearances he makes on Breakfast will limit appearances on BBC World. Interesting.

Kate Silverton doing the main BBC1 bulletins this evening AND Breakfast in the morning - busy girl! I get the impression on her Twitter page that tonight was a last minute arrangement, also she says she starts slowing down next week. When does her maternity leave start?

And of course as any freelancer knows, you often need to build up lots of work before you have some time off to make up for the lack of money when you are off!

That'll obviously explain her appearances on the One, Six, Ten, Breakfast and any other News bulletin in existence. Probably because she's freelance as well, she'll be a newly-mothers eager to get back to work. No Kate Silverton on News for a while - worse things have happened, I suppose, although I did quite enjoy her and Simon today on Breakfast.
If Bill ever left, I'd definitely give Simon a job. He's got a sense of humour like no-one else.
It's a bit strange that Joanna Gosling is presenting alone at the moment - this always happens but it's only to balance out each presenter's shift, as one of them goes to N8 so the Ten can prepare. But this isn't happening today because it's a bank holiday..

IIRC, on previous bank holidays when there's been two presenters in the evening, such as Ben and Joanna, one presenter, ie. Joanna, has presented alone from the end of the BBC1 teatime bulletin (as in tonight's case, 6.20pm) until 7pm. Then they've presented together from 7-9.30pm. Then the second presenter, ie. Ben, has presented alone in N6 from 9.30-10pm. A bit strange, I agree, but I suppose it saves them some money.
