Saw on the programme's website that Julian Worricker has joined the BBC Radio Four You and Yours team - as he's one of only three presenters I assume we'll sadly be seeing less of him on the news channel.

It's only on for an hour.

Yeah, he'll be in at 12 out at 1, won't he? That's how most presenting roles work.

Never said that. But he'd be out by about 3 I'd have thought, after they have a debrief meeting, leaving him free - should he wish to do an occasional covering shift on BBC News.

Jeremy Vine does his 2 hour radio programme every day, and Eggheads and Panorama.

Not true - AIUI Eggheads is pre-recorded and Jeremy took a few weeks off his radio show to record it (according to some on DS forums), and he only presents a few minutes at the start of panorama (a waste of money imo).

Also let's not forget Julian did a BBC Radio show prior to going on his 6 month leave and still managed to regularly present (granted he presented the N24 during the week and his Five Live show on Sundays). Also do we know when he joined this new program? Didn't see an announcement on the BBC Press Office website or in the media about it, just that someone had noticed his profile was on the site.

Changing subject a second, Ellie Crisell was back on the BBC 8pm bulletin last night but not Newsround - is it safe to say Sonali has replaced her on NR (her NR Profile was taken off some weeks ago) and that she is to replace Kate Silverton on the 8pm?

According to the Radio Times, he started yesterday. No doubt he'll still appear on the news channel, just we'll probably see less of him.

Carol Foster has been on the News Channel for a while today. Has she been on before? I don't know whether she's new - I have never seen her before.

Carole Walker.....yea, she makes occasional appearances but I think this is the first time she's presented on her own. She's popped up presenting for a few years now.

Carole Walker has been a political correspondent for several years. I remember her presenting News 24 occasionally during the 1999-2002 set period.

She's definitely presented before; I recall one time with Chris Eakin around the deteriorating health of Pope John Paul II. However, as the above poster says, I don't think she has presented on her own.

She's not presented a whole shift on her own before - however I do recall seeing her on the friday evening shift a few months back and she presented the 9.30 halfhour solo from N8.

IIRC it was Carole Walker who was on the old 0900-1300 shift on News 24 with Philip Hayton on the day of the 7th July bombings - I think she was replaced by Matthew Amroliwala when BBC1 started simulcasting.
