Yep. When the Six O'Clock News relaunched in 1999, Huw Edwards and Fiona Bruce became the presenters (Huw Mon-Thu and Fiona on Fri) and the programme also had it's own 'family' of correspondents. I can't remember the whole team now but in addition to Denise Mahoney, I also remember Sian Williams and Fergus Walsh reporting exclusively for the Six. I seem to recall the move was unpopular within the BBC and was eventually scrapped.
Personally, I much preferred the Six during the previous era. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the pool of presenters, which included Anna Ford, Martyn Lewis, Jill Dando, Moira Stuart, Jennie Bond, Justin Webb, et al. A 'focus group' declared that they were cold and aloof so they were all culled (except for Anna Ford, who was shunted off to the One). Sadly, Jill Dando died just before the May 1999 relaunch. I'm sure she'd have had a bright future at the BBC. I can vividly recall seeing the Six the night she died; Martyn Lewis was visibly upset and the programme had a very strange feel that night. Anyway, the Six (and the other bulletins) became more hip and trendy in May 1999. At the time I didn't have the internet and TV Forum was still 2 years away from being born so the relaunch took me completely by surprise. If I'd known it was coming I'd have savoured the last moments of the 'virtual era' more than I did.

It's 8am London time, and Tim Willcox has just started his shift on BBC World. I bet he's still around at midnight on the News Channel, whilst presenting GMT, Impact and World News Today in between. LOL.
Can anyone tell me who has been presenting World News Today 7pm LON all this week so far? Has Zeinqb Badawi been on?

Juliette Foster on now with Tim on BBC World. First time I've seen Juliette on World for months. Still great.

There was only one other alongside Williams, Walsh and Mahoney, that was Aminatta Forma, who was Family And Work Correspondent. Walsh was Health Correspondent, Mahoney was Consumer Correspondent and Williams was Special Correspondent.

Additionally, didn't Manisha Tank also appear in a special focus slot on a Friday, which was a kinda viewer feedback session? It didn't last very long at all.
Further, if I am not mistaken, the late Helen Rollason was also listed as the Six's Sports Correspondent, but rarely appeared unfortunately.

You're right, James, Manisha Tank was involved with the Six - wasn't her slot called 'Six Forum' or similar? I don't think that was straight away in 1999 though. For some reason I seem to think it was around 2000 or 2001?

Juliette has presented the business news on the News Channel in the past, admittedly though, her appearances in the UK have been pretty rare.
