Sian Williams on the One O'Clock News tomorrow, she says on Twitter. Nothing about the News at Ten so I assume it'll be Huw tonight.
This Friday in the year always seems to be different presenter-wise. Last year we had Jane on the One, and Kate on at 6 and 10. The year before Nick and Naga did breakfast and Emily was on the 6 and 10.
I'm sorry but why do we have to have Naga on Breakfast tomorrow and Sian is doing the one?! Put Sian back to breakfast!

And have Naga on the one?
And someone else have the one or Sian could do both - Kate has done both quite a few times when she has been covering breakfast.
I see no issue - Sian is taking a break from Breakfast. She's being tried out on different bulletins, and it'd look odd for her to turn up on Breakfast on a Friday, after weeks off, then take another couple of weeks off and come back.

I'm sure Joanna Gosling has been wearing the same horned shoulder jacket all week.. Just an observation.
And doesn't she look amazing...whatever she's wearing
Was nice to her in full shot standing up at the TOTH the other day on the News channel.
Really??? YOU thought it was nice to see a presenter standing at the TOTH???!!! Since when????!! You should have mentioned it!!!!

Just been doing some searching around the web and found a couple of Youtube clips of Tim Willcox presenting the overnight news summaries from 1998 when he was at ITN.
I know they're from only 13 years ago but apart from his hair (the same shape, just a different colour) he looks almost exactly the same as he does now!
Also wonder if he did as many hours at ITN as he does now at the BBC? I understand there wasn't a news channel to benefit from for him but still...
Hate to go off topic - but that is some fab music in the opening and closing of those bulletins. And to think of the ITV News theme today compared to that..

I have to agree. ITN had some really terrific themes in the 1980s and 1990s. Such a shame the way it's gone...

Those clips are all from overnight shifts, so he would have been there all night.
I mostly recall him being a regular on the ITV Weekend News summary on Saturday lunchtimes which would have been no more than 5 mins on air. As now, the lunchtime reader would have been replaced by someone more high profile by teatime.

Yes, wasn't that around 1999 or 2000? I think during the c. 1997-1999 period he mostly presented the various overnight summaries (as seen in those clips) and would then stay for the Morning News at 5:30am. In fact, there's a newly added clip of him presenting the Morning News on TV Ark.
Ah yes. I vaguely recall Denise Mahoney. Wasn't she one of the special 'family' of reporters on the newly relaunched Six in 1999?
Julie Etchingham - that would have been during her Breakfast News days. Breakfast with Jeremy Bowen and Sophie Raworth didn't launch until October 2000 so there was over a year during which the national bulletins were china red and cream and the breakfast programme was still using the old look. I think Julie stayed with Breakfast News until near the end of its run in 2000 before moving on to Sky News.
Clarence Mitchell - quite rare to see him on the national news. He was one of the main BBC News 24 overnight presenters during 2000/2001. He and Rageh Omaar used to alternate. Joanna Gosling also presented overnight bulletins for a time.
It seems like a different world now - most have moved on or up the ladder!
