Quite a bit of difference there though! While both work hard on the glamour aspect, Maitlis is a sharp, incisive, hard-nosed journalist but Kaplinsky is vacuous and totally lacks any credibility.
Is Ellie Crisell returning to Newsround? She presented the morning updates a few weeks ago during the olympics, but hasn't returned to NR (as far as I'm aware) and her profile has been taken off the NR website.
Has Kate Silverton now left the 8pm update or will she be returning? If not will the presenter line up remain the same?
I was wondering what Kate Silverton would be doing after the One. I still don't know. Of course, she's supposedly for the new GMTV job. Apparently, her contract has ended with the BBC.

Also Mariam was at LSE for the news channel all morning, yet it was Declan Curry on the one. I wonder if Declan was doing other stuff, perhaps in preparation for the relaunched working lunch thus why Mariam was covering.
Good to see Chris Eaklin on this afternoon - don't normally watch BBC News after 10:30 so normally miss him.

Sarah Wilmshurst used to present the weather regularly many years ago on BBC One, and has done a few shifts this year on the news channel, mainly in the morning.
Saw on the programme's website that Julian Worricker has joined the BBC Radio Four You and Yours team - as he's one of only three presenters I assume we'll sadly be seeing less of him on the news channel.
