Just out of interest, have any of the other overnight presenters apart from Babita Sharma and Kasia Madera presented Newsday yet, since it started 6 weeks ago? Also, is Rachael Hodges now the main Saturday night overnight presenter? Or is it Deborah Mackenzie? Rachael's done it most weeks since Alastair sadly retired Sad Also, has Rebecca Pike been on lately?

To my knowledge, only those two have been the London presenter, but we've had Juliana Liu and Mariko Oi in Singapore. I would assume that Rachael Hodges is the Sunday presenter but on Twitter, she has said that she is freelance when on that particular shift. And nobody else has been on recently, except Deborah Mackenzie a few Sundays ago.

If she was placed on gardening leave there would an uproar in the Daily Mail of £xx,xxx paid to journalists to sit at home.

I'm not sure placing Laura on gardening leave serves any benefit to the BBC, ITV or to Laura.


Indeed - far from gardening leave, she's anchoring the TOTHs on the News Channel from Westminster this morning.
