Yes it's called working. Are you going to comment every time he appears on screen?

That was the first report he'd done - hardly an everyday occurance.

He's woeful too.

agreed. zero charisma. Like many of the bbc biz presenters.

Aside from Aaron Hazelhurst when he appears I take it. Wink

Adnan Nawaz is back on Sports duty on BBC World, and appears to be far more comfortable doing so than news. I guess he was just a temporary fill in until Newsday was launched. Also, with so many big sports stories on the go at the moment, it's also quite good to see Adnan back at the helm.

With Tim Willcox reporting from Athens. Beginning to wonder where he was, 2 shifts needed covering on the NC yesterday, and he didn't present either! Being sent to Athens obviously explains everything.

Interesting choice to single head, given that Tim only seems to be on for a couple of minutes an hour? Louise is doing fine, but the channel really dies when it goes to single-headed format.

Who's on the NC Sport tonight? Damien something? It seems as if the late NC weekday shift isn't popular with the regular sports team! It lasts a good 9 hours!

He was on in the afternoon on Friday, no idea who he is.

There was talk of Matt Frei looking around ITN headquarters in the News Channel thread, and we still have no news of who will replace him. Is it most probably going to be Katty Kay?

I will miss Matt from the BBC. Do you think him leaving was perhaps impatience about a more prominent role in BBC News, or just a new challenge?

I think it would be a mistake not to pick Katty. She knows the Washington beat, is very BBC and well known to World News America viewers. But curious that the BBC don't seem to have said anything since C4's announcement.

Yeh, that's what I thought, nothing has been said at all. I suspect they'll be something soon. It would make so much sense for Katty to get the job, it seems stupid to pick anyone else, for the reasons you've mentioned already.

Of course, we don't get WNA in the UK anymore but what are the usual rotas? Who will be the second presenter - we've had a real mix in the past: Laura Trevelyan, Ted Koppel (once), Scott Simon, Sonia Smith, Michelle Fleury. Any more?!

Also, does anyone understand Polish? I found this video about Kasia Madera and was curious as to what was going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYaJEURQmjs

Philippa Thomas is the only other presenter I can think of (from a while back, mind) and one of the only other presenters I can imagine getting the main job.

I got one of my Polish colleagues to translate, she's basically saying what she does at the BBC, how it feels to broadcast to such a wide audience, how she finds London and is talking to her family about how it is to be Polish and living in London.
