Yes, as is with BBC World News the branded shows tend to have a "presenter No2". It's more likely you won't get George Alagiah on a GMT than you will.; Zeinab can often have a week or two on assignment and there's always Tim Willcox!
Quick question: I think I'm right in saying Tim Willcox has done about every London World News bulletin apart from GMT?
Friday will be BBC News (as present) rather than Newsday won't it?
Friday (i.e. the shift after Chris Eakin) will be Newsday, Saturday (i.e. the shift after Tim Willcox) will be BBC News (considering Friday 'overnights' are actually Saturdays).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this because it will be the following morning for Asian viewers, who this is primarly aimed at?
My point was rather what's still Friday to us is Saturday to them, where our Sunday is effectively their Monday. With that in mind, the Asia-aimed schedule could make a lot of sense.

Yes, that's right. As Newsday is aimed at the Asia-Pacific region as (I'm assuming) their business breakfast strand, there wouldn't be much point in having the programme on at 01:00 GMT on Saturdays and Sundays because there's no business news. They'd struggle to fill a whole hour with news at the weekend. I'm sure it will only air from 01:00 GMT on Mondays to Fridays, just as every other programme strand in BBC World's history.
Just had an internet and gadget-free ten days, so doing a bit of catching up tonight. Sorry to hear that Alastair Yates has retired. He will indeed be missed.
It's presumably now disappeared from BBC schedules, but does anyone know why 'ABC World News' was only broadcast Monday-Thursday (in television terms)? I can imagine weekend bulletins might be more tricky, with schedules being a little more flexible in the states, but why no broadcasts on the BBC on Fridays?
