IMHO if Mike Embley will move to Washington, he will get it, especially considering he is already established to PBS audiences, and it's a better gig than the aweful one he's had for the last few years presenting 2 bulletins on World.

That 'awful' gig is now the same two timeslots BBC World News America airs in Wink A bit higher profile now done from Washington, but all WNA is, is 2 30 minute bulletins that go out on some PBS stations as well as BBC World News. It's not that special or high profile. So I would certainly agree that a top presenting name is unlikely. And Matt Frei when he started WNA wasn't a high profile presenter, rather a high profile correspondent getting his first presenting job

Jamie Coomarasamy on World at the moment, filling-in for the absent Mr. Dobbie.

I know it would not be his first presenting job but Mark Mardell?

Unusual line-up on BBC World today: Karin Giannone, James Coomarasamay and now Madeleine Morris.

Hmmmmm. Thank goodness for Karin Giannone.

Ben Brown solo in the studio on the NC - with Sue Thearle doing the sport! She was presenting alongside him yesterday.

Who was 8:30-11, was someone solo then too?

Simon McCoy and Carrie Gracie. I imagine the reason why Ben Brown was on his own is because Emily Maitliss was presenting a considerable chunk of each hour from outside Buckingham Palace due to the Obama state visit. Hardly worth having two presenters in the studio as well.

Dan S
Jane Hill at Buckingham Palace as well

Not sure she was, I think Martine Croxall was presenting alongside Ben yesterday 11-2, with Sue on in the evening with Matthew Amroliwala

Could be wrong though, the vast majority of the female presenters on the NC all do look very similar!

Correct. My mistake! I'm getting mixed up with all the different presenters. All the same it is unusual to see Sue Thearle doing the sport - she quit that three years ago when she left Breakfast, supposedly.
