Clive Myrie on the Saturday news for the first time this evening. He always looks so uncomfortable in side/graphics shots! And Tim Willcox on the NC, again, this evening.

You mean on the BBC 1 bulletin, or a day shift on the NC? If the former, he's done it before.

Clive has presented on BBC One before, and quite a few times last year.

I meant it's the first time he's presented the Saturday BBC One bulletins - he's done Sundays a few times before.

Clive's done the Saturday BBC1 bulletins a few times, but does tend to do more Sundays

Tim Willcox now doing his 14th consecutive day on the NC. He shared a little joke with Owen Thomas, who was doing the business news, last night on a story about people not having to work over their weekend, apart from them!

Also nice to see an academy award programme 'promo' with Jane Hill sat behind the desk in TC7. Don't think I've ever seen her in there since the 2008 relaunch

I find it really weird how Jane appears to have fallen by the wayside over the last couple of years! At one point she was the go-to presenter for the Saturday Night news, cover on the One and Six, and she appeared on the Ten once, also on Breakfast. Now she never seems to come off her usual News Channel shift which is really a shame as she is fantastic and deserves more exposure.

I always thought it was a shame Jane was sidelined - I thought she was a certain to replace Darren Jordon on the One.

Kasia Madera is on the NC evening shift today, although where have Juliet Dunlop and James Dagwell been shuted to? It seems to be the red button headlines loop, which is a shame as I enjoyed Juliet in particular, I remember when she used to do the 0300 World News Today which was really good, and she was great doing weekends on the NC too!

James, Kasia and Juliet are all primarily Red Button presenters. They also appear as overnight relief and, in the case of Madera and Dunlop, as occasional daytime reliefs. They've not disappeared anywhere - Juliet was on an overnight only a week or two back. Juliet, Kasia and Babita Sharma also covered the time between Karin Giannone going on maternity leave and Naga Munchetty starting overnights, which is why you'd have seen Juliet on the 3am shift.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up!

Anyway, Tim Willcox has just popped up on 'Reporters' and is doing it in the actual World Newsroom, not N8, but behind the glass, which is unusual as Zeinab's usually at the CSO.

Nicholas Owen on Breakfast - a rare occurrence, no?

No, not a rare occurrence, he has done a couple of shifts this year so far now and he did quite a few last year. He normally does the weekends - I think he has only been on the soft once.

Good to see Tim presenting from underneath that big red lit flying saucer thingy. But, did you notice that the camera was a bit shoogly? Maybe a hand-held one. Although the programme runs for about thirty minutes, I guess the presenter links are no more than two minutes collectively, making "Reporters" a relatively short programme to pre-record?

I believe they used to do it as-live - presumably playing in the VTs through a studio gallery saves having to book an edit suite and piece it all together later.
