I notice that Jon Sopel was presenting up until 10pm tonight on the NC - a little out-of-the-ordinary.
Not overly so. He seems to present the 6.30/7 - 9:30/10 slot every few weeks, as does Matthew. If he starts presenting at 7, which I presume he did last night, he would finish just before 10.
Any reason Louise Minchin has now gone solo on the NC? Tim Willcox was there but now has gone - I can only guess he's preparing for the News At Five but don't they normally leave 15 minutes before?

I think I'm more shocked by the fact that Louise Minchin was on....she hardly ever seems to do that slot anymore!

It's usually 30 minutes before when they leave......but I'm sure if Tim had it his way, it would only be 15 minutes, just so he gets more air time!
Just noticed that network played out a few seconds of the weather with Jon Hammond on the news channel on BBC One just now--I suppose it was it like that on BBC One HD as it's simply a simulcast?
