Interesting pairing on the 11am bulletin - Jane Hill and Naga Munchetty

Matthew is on this evening so I imagine Ben would have done a swap for his 11am shift but then was required to cover the 5pm newshour for Huw wherever he is!

Nice to see Martine Croxall back again on the late evening shift! More 'alternating' shifts in the future - it seems as if Annita McVeigh has taken over the Saturday evening shift, there tends to be an alternating shift on Sunday between Clive, Annita and a relief presenter; Martine and Chris Eakin and Rachel Schofield and Clive Myrie have done the 2-5 for the past two Wednesdays now - will that continue?

Really weird pairing at 11 - Jane Hill & Naga Munchetty Confused

EDIT: Right on the ball as ever, Newsroom!

Isn't this showing that the BBC have less Male relief presenters, maybe they need to address that issue.

Is there any reason that Alastair Yates doesn't do any day shifts on the News channel?

No. It shows that the BBC R&D department's cloning of Tim Willcox has hit some teething issues, and managers are having to cope with the fact he can't be on two differently-operating channels at the same time. As much as he'd like to be, I'm sure.

It is nice to see Martine back, but I can't imagine it's a permanent arrangement as the overnight slots are left very short staffed at the moment. Also hard to see how the BBC is dramatically saving money by sending Chris Eakin to random locations. I think the idea behind weekend evenings is for Annita and Clive to cover them on separate days, allowing both to cover for other presenters during the week (which is a very sensible arrangement).

If they want to save a little more money, use the Duty News channel presenter to do the BBC1 evening bulletins on Saturday and Sunday Nights (they use the News channel presenter on the daytime BBC One updates). I still fail to see the need for there to be a separate presenter to come in and read the news for 10 minutes or so! (which most of the time is an identical copy in running order terms to the news channel toth - with material/packages/scripting).

Didn't know where to post this - but who on Earth continues inviting back Yasmin Alibhai Brown to the paper reviews on the BBC News Channel - and other shows and channels as a matter of fact?

She is just ghastly - she talks over and disagrees with everybody's views and then screeches out her middle-class, racist, Daily Mail-esque rubbish. Someone shut her up please.

I take it you mean this...

The Sunday bulletins traditionally attract high ratings, it makes sense to employ regular presenters. As mentioned a few pages back, Julia Somerville will join the Saturday night team shortly.

Why haven't you told us this before?

Just a quick question but was Rachel Schofield presenting solo this afternoon? When I tuned in at 16:40, she was on her own

Matthew on in the evenings quite a lot recently, plus Ben on earlier - a temporary change, or more permanent?
