But, bear in mind that where I was watching (or could have been if I was awake), it would be 4am, in which case Good Morning is the right thing to say. (However, it would have been noon in New Zealand, hence Good Afternoon would have been more appropriate..............................)

..............best just to have said "Hello".

I do agree, however, I don't think that the first hour of the overnight shift is simulcast on BBC World News? I think you get Peter Dobbie until 1am UKT?

Indeed, thus James would have been coming from N6. Weekend overnights start at 1am - and besides, if it had been on World then there would be certain parts of the world watching where it would not have been morning Wink

Nice to see Carrie Gracie presenting on the News channel solo tonight, she's one of my favourite female presenters and is a really good presenter. She always seems like a really pleasant down to earth person - (much more so than Kate Silverton!). Smile

I only wish they'd put her on the national bulletins now and again for cover (IIRC she's the only female presenter that's never cropped up on a BBC1 simulcast?).

So today then we've had Charlie on Breakfast, Tim, and now Carrie.

Was there another presenter on in between Tim and Carrie? I've completely missed today's schedule Mad

Yea, Nick, I think presented between 1 and 4, and then returned with the BBC One bulletin just after 5.
Good to see Carrie out of her usual 8:30-11 weekday slot - I know it's Boxing Day so the "rules" don't really apply, but it'd be nice to see her pop up now and again elsewhere.

I seriously have to question the value of bringing Sophie in for that bulletin especially as Sophie Long is presenting again on the BBC News Channel.

The bulletin seemed to be about 9 minutes long.
