That's incredibly bizarre - it was Matthew Amroliwala and Naga Munchetty at the 7pm TOTH

EDIT: Matthew was in the main presenters seat (to the left on our screens) and Naga in the second presenter's seat (to the right of our screens)

Juliette was interviewing a guest at the desk about markets.

Thanks everyone for that speedy response - it's interesting to see the effect of Christmas on BBC News. Looking at my TV Guide it seems like there are some erractic late BBC One bulletins, notably Christmas Eve at 11.30pm!

Thought it was interesting to see Matthew doing 2-5 with Emily this afternoon

And now Jon's on 7-10, with Sophie Long

What a funny old day for BBC News presenters, Ben must have swapped shifts with Matthew, who switched with Jon, no Carrie, so we had Rachel on this morning, no Jane, for whom we had Emma Crosby covering, no Louise, so Emily covered, and no Joanna, which is why Sophie Long is reliefing

I bet Simon McCoy is the only one who knows where his mind is this week! Laughing

Who does everyone think will do the Christmas Eve and Boxing Day news then? I reckon Sophie for Christmas Eve and Nicholas for Boxing Day.

Oh, I am not so sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone whose name rhymed with the words Vim and Smallpox.

I think it will be Fiona on Christmas eve - she has done it for the last few years...as for boxing day it might be Joanna Gosling or Ben Brown as they didn't do any shifts over Christmas last year.

George back on the 6 tonight after 3 weeks off, so perhaps he will be on tomorrow too.

Naga Munchetty and Matthew Amroliwala are back tonight - it's odd to see Naga being lead presenter over Matthew, it's usually the more senior presenter who sits where she is tonight.

They take it turn about since one starts earlier (at half past 6) and the other finishes later (at 10pm).

Kicking off the Christmas shifts on the NC is Juliet Dunlop, by herself at 0830.
