I'd assume it was Jon and Emily today for the afternoon shift. Jon moved to the 1 and Sophie who was down to do the 1 today was pulled off to work on the News Special scheduled for 19.30 on BBC2.

Summary of the Special.

Sophie Raworth narrates the love story of the couple who, one day, will become the most famous husband and wife in the world.

Sophie might cover the 10 from the studio too if Huw is on location or Kate may now be covering the 6 and 10 from the studio if sophie is just doing thing on BBC2.

I can't imagine Sophie will be doing the six tonight if she's on BBC 2 just an hour after its end. I'd also have thought Fiona Bruce would be the most likely candidate to present the six and ten from the studio should Huw be on location, rather than Kate.

Not sure Kate has been in today?

I was just thinking with George being gone all week Sophie might have been doing the 6 and Kate on the one so they might have done a bit of shifting...we'll soon see. Who presented the update at 3pm?

EDIT: Huw has said Sophie will be at Buckingham palace at 6pm. Joanna Gosling on NC now.

Sophie at Buckingham Palace, and Ben Brown in the studio for the Six

Ben Brown in the studio - interesting choice. He's only been in TC7 once before, doing the weekend news a few weeks ago

I agree - interesting choice. First time he's presented the Six officially 'from the studio' in almost three years

Timothy now in the News Channel studio, Louise Minchin at Clarence House

Also of course Ben Brown was on during the day this afternoon - I'm guessing they just had no flexibility. Louise Minchin presenting would have made more sense to me if she was available today.

GMT nice double-header* today: George Alagiah in Helmand and Zeinab Badawi in London.

And - so far - no OTT mention of that Royal Wedding announcement!!

Edit: It's actually a three-way, as JC has just popped-up, anchoring a segment live from Brussels.

Good to see Emma Crosby presenting this afternoon with Ben...

Is she now staying at the BBC or is she still going to CNN?
