Interesting to note that the BBC is soon to start broadcasting from Iran again - James Reynolds will gradually move into the role, following his current (short) stint in Washington.

Shame for James as I've enjoyed seeing him in Washington, but makes sense for the BBC to be back in Tehran. Any ideas what Jon Leyne will do next?

Also interesting to note Tim has been doing the five today and yesterday, but Chris Rogers the evening shift? Tim hasn't been on anywhere near as often since he returned from Chile!

Tim has been on the 2-5 shift all this week so far, with Sophie Long, as well as doing the Five. Chris Rogers was only on the evening shift last night

Has he? Oh, my mistake.

Jon should be back soon, If I remember correctly. Last week of November?

According to the BBC One schedule website and Radio Times Jon Sopel is actually down to do The Politics Show this Sunday, whether that will happen or not remains to be seen

Owen Thomas presenting the business news on the News Channel yesterday. Is this a first? He's a lot better than the boring types that normally do it.

Love Mike Embley's throwaway comments on his Twitter page about Jonathan Charles (JC). Someone has clearly asked Mike about a brooch which JC must have been spotted wearing. Mike makes the comment along the lines that "JC is not a very predictable guy. The only thing that's guaranteed is that he will be wearing a pink shirt."

Not the precise comment, but from memory, it's along those lines.

Owen Thomas commenting on Twitter that the biz shifts on News 24 are far harder than on World!!

Maybe on the News Channel - but he did News 24 business in the early days of the channel I think (Though was much more regular on BBC World) This was in the excellent Anna Jones, Sara Coburn era (!)

Interesting really how many different presenters have done business news on news channel afternoons on the past few years compared to the number on the morning shift.

To name a few, we've had Maryam Moshiri (the most regular/ consistent?), Dominic Laurie, Rachel Horne, Babita Sharma, Aaron Hestlehurst, Susannah Streeter, Sarah Coburn, Sally Eden, Sonali Shah and, most recently, Ben Thompson. I find it interesting they would bring someone like Ben Thompson in when presenters such as Dominic Laurie don't have (to the best of my knowlege) regular patterns. Did anyone replace him as Middle East correspondent/ presenter?

Stephanie Hancocks was the leader on Middle East Business Report from Dubai this week, in the absence of Nima Abu-Wardeh. Normally Ben Thompson would fill-in as presenter when Nima is away. So, I guess Stephanie (who is a regular on the programme anyway), has become the de-facto fil-in for Ben???

In the list above of numerous business presenters, let's not forget even the likes of Richard Quest, Adrian Finighan, Mishal Husain and Teymoor Nabili. All of them were Business Presenters mainly on BBC World (before the advent of BBC News 24), and all of whom have gone on to be business and/or news anchors with other broadcasters (except Mishal, who is still at BBC News).

Other presenters who would have appeared on World/early news 24 days would include Dominic di Natale, Jamie Robertson, Tanya Beckett, Paul Burden (remember him?), Paddy O'Connell (all rounder indeed), John Terrett and Michelle Fleury.
