Who are presenting this evening on the BBC News Channel?

Individuals contracted by the BBC, I would guess. Wink

We'll have to wait until 7 to find out! My betting is that it will be Emma and Chris again.

I really enjoyed these two on together last night, they make a remarkable pairing, Breakfast material for if and when Bill and Sian leave if you ask me.

I doubt Sian and Bill will leave for a few years yet and Both are Freelaunce and are likley to at most appear on BBC only on weekend breakfast. ,although I have to agree they are a great pairing .

Yep, as I and many others predicted, it is indeed Emma and Chris on again tonight

Nice to see Emma taking what I call the lead presenting role tonight (ie sitting on the left of the screen)

Emma Crosby back on the News Channel tonight, this time with Chris Rodgers

He seems to be making more and more appearances just lately, is he now an official relief presenter?

Didn't Emma Crosby and Chris Rogers co-present on Sky News in 2003, before he left for ITV News?

IIRC he left Sky for ITN shortly after expressing his annoyance over being taken off air as 9/11 was breaking.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I'm sure Emma and Chris were paired on Sky. Wiki says

Quote:
He remained with Sky News, where his popularity with viewers ensured him a place also reading the news for Channel 4's RI:SE, a Sky production. He left Sky in late 2003 to join ITN's ITV News.

James Landale presenting the Politics Show next Sunday.

How do we think Laura Kunenssberg managed today?

Doesn't surprise me at all - neither did Laura. The other presenter I'd like to see present would be Anita Anand, who might bring something different to it.

I thought it was interesting to see Mishal Husain present on BBC1 on a Sunday for the first time in 5/6 weeks yesterday

Has Kate Silverton now officially stopped doing Nationals every other Saturday now, and gone back to the way it was before, ie random BBC News Channel presenters alternating each week (eg Simon McCoy, Joanna Gosling, Jane Hill, Ben Brown etc)?

I wouldn't be so sure - Kate seems to present when she's not got a huge amount of bulletins/ breakfast screen time - she's been doing the News at One a lot recently.

Similarly Mishal's done some weekday nationals and Friday Impact Asia's recently, and Emily has had increased screentime on the NC/ election & conference coverage.

I follow Kate on twitter and she seems to have been doing a lot of public speaking on a Saturday night - e.g. presenting awards, hosting evenings etc. And also as you say she has had a lot of weekday work and a holiday!

Very interesting stuff, thankyou. Maybe some of her BBC colleagues should take note!

As a side note, looks to me as though Louise could be on the One all this week, just as Kate was last week. Wonder what's happened to Sophie Raworth, maybe she's on annual leave or something?? Also, it was extremely interesting to see Juliet Dunlop doing 11-2 yesterday with Matthew.
