Hey guys

Just found this picture on the TV Ark website:

Is it by any chance Gavin Hewitt? If not, can somebody tell me who it is, I'm dying to know! Razz

(BTW, the photo is from the BBC Nine O' Clock News in 1978)

.... seems Clive Myrie has got the US Midterms 'Gig' for the News Channel. Wonder if he's replacing Jon Sopel, as it's the kind of event he'd usually cover.

Is it just me or does anyone else reckon the BBC has too many international correspondents? there’s no need to have two correspondents in Paris , there’s no need to have six Washington correspondents I mean don't get me wrong I think it's great that they have such a wide spread of knowledge across the globe but I feel there is too many.

To a large extent it's because they have so many outlets to report on:
BBC1 News Bulletins
BBC News Channel
BBC World News Channel
BBC World Service Radio
BBC Radio 5 Live
BBC Radios 1/2/3/4/5 Live
BBC Website
The various foreign language services
And possibly some others too

That would bewhy Ellie Crisell disappeared for about half an hour, to do the 8pm update? I switched on at 7:45 and only Chris Rogers was presenting solo - I wondered what was going on..

Julia sumerville on for a third successive day with Simon today think she must be covering the week .

Elsewhere I know I have mentioned Naga's work with living quite a few times but when was the last time she was on BBC News?

She was doing overnights the same time I was on night shifts, which was at the end of last month. (of course, she could well have been on since.)

Naga seems to be the new overnights presenter Wednesday to Friday, with some relief shifts here and there on the channel during the day, on Breakfast and during economics programming.

She was part of the Spending Review team earlier this month, for example.

And Ginofish, what on earth do you mean by "work with living"?!
