She was actually a producer on BBC News 24 when it first launched, back in 1997. She then worked for News Direct 97.3 and LBC before joining The Money Channel in 1999. In 2001 she joined CNBC Europe before she went to Sky in 2003, and in October 2007 became a London correspondent on the Fox Business Network. In 2009 she then replaced Fiona Phillips on GMTV, and stayed there until the programme was replaced by 'Daybreak' in 2010. She is now (I believe) freelancing between BBC News and CNN.

She was a producer when BBC News 24 launched (or around then), not sure if she became a reporter or presenter for the channel though. She then went on to Sky in various roles before joining GMTV.
Nice to see her, but I'd assumed she'd be on in weekday posts? Seems quite a waste to get her to cover for weekend shifts, not that they're not important.
Edit: Or for a more detailled output of her career, see the above post

Who's Emma Crosby. Never seen her before. Is she new?
Is that a joke?
Seriously?! She was one of the main presenters on GMTV until Daybreak took over - she replaced Fiona Phillips when she left. She used to present on BBC news 24 a few years ago. I think she is also going to be working for CNN.
Well as I've never seen GMTV (give me one good reason why anyone would watch that) why would I have heard of her?
So we've got a GMTV thicko on BBC News now. Great.
Emma Crosby presenting on the News Channel tonight, alongside our Tim

IMO Emma was very good with the Business News on Sky News. I cannot remember how she was with the main presenting roles she took on but I think it takes her a while to settle in just like GMTV.

So any qualified, experienced journalist who leaves a leading broadcaster to join GMTV becomes a "thicko"? What a pathetic attitude.

Emma employment with GMTV came when they were trying to become more newsy at the beginning of 2009.
(Quick question, any reason why BBC News on BBC One at the moment on for 25mins? Didn't realise weekends updates were 25mins long)

That is odd - unless it contains regional news, is it some quirky scheduling to allow Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow to be 22:00 - 22:30? I've always been puzzled by bizarre scheduling on TV at weekends, in particular when regular shows change each time.

Not normal for a 25 minutes Saturday bulletin at all, but guess they want to meet the 10pm junction after X Factor to boost Comedy Roadshow
Far prefered Emma presenting full bulletins than comparatively short business updates. Got a chance to see more of her presenting skills. Sadly Sky hardly ever used her on news once she moved to business (Thankfully they have learnt their lesson with Anna Jones)

Emma still presenting with Tim, doesn't Tim go solo at this point?
Emma seems very good so far, maybe the BBC is a good place for her!?

Anna Jones was always best on the BBC News channel (or when she was there News 24).
Emma hasn't done any double headed news presentation for a while and she seems to be cutting in a bit too quick after Tim finishes his bit.
Something she'll have to get used to is being stuffed behind a desk 24/7 on the news channel rather than moving around like Sky (and the BBC should really be doing this) do.

It's usually Myrie and McVeigh that present this slot on a Saturday/Sunday evening, and they normally continue together until 23:30, so I presume the same is happening with Willcox and Crosby
Personally, I think Emma's been very good this evening, seems to be performing much better on rolling news than she did on GMTV
