According to Kevin Backhurst's Twitter he got a good reception in the newsroom - they had Tim t-shirts and gave him a round of applause!

At least there's the opportunity of more hours for Tim while Jon recovers. Or if he's covering other shifts on the News Channel or on BBC World News, we still have the likes of Ben Brown, Nicholas Owen and Roger Johnson to fill in

Seriously?! She was one of the main presenters on GMTV until Daybreak took over - she replaced Fiona Phillips when she left. She used to present on BBC news 24 a few years ago. I think she is also going to be working for CNN.
