Ben Thompson presenting the business news on the BBC News Channel ATM. Has he done it before?
HO
Who is he? He did a shift the other day, but I've never seen him before that.

He's a Middle East Business Reporter (usually)

Zeinab Badawi currently presenting GMT - this isn't usual is it?
It isn't usual no - especially seeing as George was still on the Six, and poor Zeinab has hung around to do World News Today!

Perhaps he is doing the 10 tonight. Huw didn't do news at 5 on the news channel so perhaps he is still off.
Does George normally do all three (GMT, 6 and 10) if he is covering the 10?

I suppose. It would be a considerably long shift for George if he did do all three in one day!
On another note, nice to see Emily Maitlis being given more exposure on the News at Five again, wonder if she will do it all week until Thursday like she did last week?

I think Huw will be in later on this week especially with the spending review coming up.
I remember reading Sian's twitter a few weeks ago saying she will be at westminster on 20th Oct for the review so I would imagine others would there on tuesday.
EDIT: George on Ten

It's rather surprising that the BBC Network coverage of the spending review seems to be being treated as an extension to 'The Daily Politics' rather than a BBC NC Simulcast.

As widely predicted, George is doing the Ten, which explains why Zeinab was covering GMT
EX
Same set up as the pre-budget report usually gets isn't it? I can't recall a News Channel simulcast being used to cover a pre-planned set piece political speech on the network.

She's better than George anyway. LOL. Why not have Zeinab do the Ten and WNT? Their more closely timed than GMT and WNT??
Ben Thompson is based here at the BBC World office in Dubai (which, incidentally, is just thirty seconds walk from my house, if anyone's interested!!)
