Yeah really good news. Like her, think she will do well at the BBC.

Nick Witchell in Kabul this morning. Is there a royal visit due?

No, I don't think so, and certainly hope the BBC isn't naïve enough to roll him out on location whilst an embargo is on related to an imminent royal visit!!

IIRC, Nicholas as a twin portfolio on BBC News: Royal Correspondent and Diplomatic Correspondent.

Martine Dennis anchored The World Today in the early part of this week as opposed to the latter part of the week (I think because JC was on location somewhere?). But the Thursday edition (at least) was presented by Kasia Madera and Sally Bundock. It's the first time I've seen Kasia on TWT.

Peter Dobbie in all week again for Nik Gowing on The Hub, and noticeably he is getting to stand up at the hub podium! (Normally, only used when Nik presents. All other stand-in presenters usually sit at the main desk when Nik is away.)

If I remember correctly Nick covered Baghdad for a few weeks during the summers of 2008 and 09, but not (I believe) this year, so perhaps he's covering for someone in Kabul having a few weeks off? He was certainly on a day or so ago talking about matters completely unrelated to the royals.

Yes, Spanish is the official language in Chile. If Tim Wilcox speaks fluent Spanish, I guess that's one of the reasons why he's been sent out there.
