House, I have to say I agree. I would like to see Alastair Yates back on BBC World permanently, presenting during the weekend shifts, or even appearing on one of the flagships, such as GMT or The Hub. I have watched him on World / BBC News / DWT for almost 16 years now and find him to be incredibly authoratitive and consistent.

Naga Munchetty last night overnight - it's the first time I have ever seen this presenter in my life! Initially when she came on, I thought it was Navdip Dhariwal. Only when she introduced her name did I realise who it was. She was on Breakfast with Charlie Stayt a few years ago, right?

I had to chuckle the night before last, however. James Dagwell was on the World simulcast and there was a story running about a woman who threw a cat into a wheelie bin. I am highly sure that James was struggling to keep a straight face after the story, which was the end story on the bulletin. We all remember what happened last time he had to handle a story of a feline nature?

But I also have to agree with your comments. James has improved immensely and I find him quite watchable now on the news. More than before.

Naga has been a regular relief presenter on breakfast over the last year and a half, mainly at weekends.

Now Working Lunch has ended I'd imagine she will be appearing a lot more on the news channel at various times.

Naga has also reported a couple of times for Newsnight since the end of WL....was a better reporter than presenter IMO

I thought she did the business news on breakfast much better than when she presents on breakfast.

Emily on 10 tonight...surprising - I thought it would have been kate seeing how much they love her!

I wonder if Naga is to become one of the main overnight presenters - since Karin Giannone went on maternity leave a random selection of presenters have anchored the Wed-Fri slot, so maybe this is the Beeb's plan for Naga. Still seems like a demotion - you don't expect Juliet Dunlop or Babita Sharma to be sitting next to Bill on the Breakfast sofa.

Nice to hear Emily was on the ten tonight, though I do think she's best suited to Newsnight and slots where she co-anchors - she can have great banter and chemistry with Jon Sopel.

Seems that BBC World is using BBC World Service presenters whilst David Eades is sunning himself on a Greek beach! This week, we have had Pooneh Ghoddoosi, Komla Dumor and Ros Atkins all appearing on BBC World News. I've gotta say, Ros Atkins has a really affable style of presentation and is quite refreshing. His interaction with Aaron Heslehurst has been excellent.

And, the New Willcoxes (Peter Dobbie and Owen Thomas) have been on every day this week. Owen with a mixture of business and news. Peter has been on The Hub for the whole week, whilst Nik Gowing and Lyse Doucet are away.

Tim on Impact Asia as well this week.

Holiday season is upon us.

Naga Munchetty on the overnights again last night - presumably she will be tonight too. If this is a regular position now I will be disappointed - I'd much rather have Juliet Dunlop or Kasia Madera.

Oh well, I guess it's one more reason not to watch overnight bulletins.

I take it she wasn't on overnight last night since she is on breakfast this morning?

Indeed - is she just picking up random shifts? I'm not sure how/ why they think someone senior and experienced enough to present Breakfast should also be presenting overnight bulletins.
