why is it double headed in the evening? The rest of the weekend isn't!

Probably cause that evening shift is too long for one anchor on his own.

It's only one hour less than Maxine's shift (10-4 or 1-7) then the evening is 7-12

Aren't there fewer recorded back half-hours in the evening. Double heading with back half-hours is pretty difficult to justify. (Presumably why overnights are single headed)

I think most evening hours have either a recorded programme or Sportsday for the last half of the hour. Most of the full hours on weekends are in the daytime, and even then they usually have Your Money/Meet the Author/Oddbox/e24 (though not for much longer)

They sometimes have panorama showing on sunday evenings.

They should bring back Sissons. He was always good to watch on a Sunday. A perfect pairing on a Sunday evening would be Sissons and Doily.

I am sure many of you will entirely agree, folks.

Looks like BBC Bosses have listened to my complaint last week about last Friday's 11 hours of Tim Willcox on BBC World. To make up for it, they have brought-in the wonderful Pooneh Ghoddoosi from BBC's Persian Service and also co-reporter alongside Lyse Doucet on BBC World Service.

Welcome to World, Pooneh.

(I wonder if Tim is now sat at the BBC Persian desk as part of the exchange deal...............ponders.........)

E24 is presented by Dagwell on weekends, and by Tazmin Lucia Khan during the week. Khan also does a lot of Interactive Red Button Stuff.

If the Weekend programme has been axed, then the weekday segments might also be for the chop, thus rendering both presenters surplus to requirements.

With Working Lunch gone, that effectively puts Naga Munchetty and Declan Curry out of a job.

The BBC certainly is tightening its belt. I wouldn't be surprised if they have the 10pm presenters front the 8pm 90s update (or ditch the pointless waste of 90s altogether).

Asked about his plans post-Working Lunch, Declan said:

@declancurry on Twitter posted:
I'm presenting some new weekend programmes on Radio 5 Live and the TV News Channel. Will be great fun.

So look's like he's OK but not sure about Naga. She seems quite highly regarded by the BBC; presenting Breakfast and budget coverage so maybe they'll find somewhere for her. News Channel maybe?

Madeleine Morris on World News America tonight - is that her first time presenting in front of the camera?

I actually came on here to ask "Who is that presenting World News America" today? First time I've seen her presenting.

Madeleine Morris, as of fairly recently a Washington correspondent for the BBC. I think (from a quick Google) she's also presented programmes such as World Have Your Say and worked as a correspondent on World Service.
