Jon Sopel is brilliant, funny, insightful.

Total pleasure to watch.

In my opinion Jon Sopel is one of the better presenters the BBC have - I'm not always 100% sure when I see him in a more scripted, rehearsed programme, like the BBC News at Six, but both in the studio on the NC and when on location (especially about politics) he is brilliant. If Dimbleby does move on from the election night coverage and Marr, Paxman or Edwards got it, I'd love Sopel to get a bigger role!


What I love about having Huw or Jon at Westminster is, due to their reporting experience (and general passion for politics) they can both talk from experience, where as other presenters can't.

What is Alan Johnston up to these days?

Dimbleby about to go on air with a Special on the News Channel. Unsure as to whether BBC One will cut from The One show.

Who presented yesterday and today's News at One?

Yesterday's had Sophie presenting from Westminster for the vast majority of the bulletin, with Simon McCoy in the studio with a look at the rest of the news and to hand to the weather.

Thought The One Show pulling out of a film, thanking their guest and then handing to Dimbleby worked well. Was a clean transition between two live shows without any of the fumbling and stumbling you often get.
