Surely the much easier option would have been for Jon Sopel to read the news bulletin. Simples.

Jon Sopel was on location in Dudley I believe so would possibly have actually been more complicated.

Oh joy... presumably this week will be very disruptive as ever with the lead up to Easter. I presume George will be in for the rest of the week but the Ten only has Huw today with Fiona and George covering the rest of the week.

Bingo! Now someone is talking sense!

(Perhaps the duty presenter had slept in because he/she forgot to put his/her clock forward.)

I might be mistaken, but I'm sure I saw clips of Cam the Sham's discussion prior to the Politics Show programme?

Does that mean it was prerecorded & not live?

If it wasn't live, then Jon Sopel couldn't have done the news summary anyway!

(I really hope I'm wrong!)

Nope you were right it was prerecorded.. So Jon could have handed over to himself in London and back again... but that would have just been odd!

On a lighter note I see Julia Somerville is back on the News Channel. Is she just covering for school holidays then? And was Fiona back this morning?

Fiona wasn't in this morning. Fabulous to see Julia back today!

Julia has been doing some great interviews today, and I think she works well with Ben. Needs to become a permanent pairing IMO.

don't watch BBC News much - does Huw Edwards always do that glancing at his desk/notes while reading the autocue. intensely irritating!

Agreed.

Anyway, according to RT, Mishal Hussian is due to present the Ten a week on Friday (9th April). I wonder if she'll be doing the Six as well?

I wonder if it will actually happen - Mishal was down a few weeks back to do it but Huw did it instead. They had Fiona down for the 10 tonight and its Huw...they're always getting it wrong!
