Razia Iqbal seems to have given up her Arts brief to become Special Correspondent - I assume this means the new Arts editor must be starting soon.
According to the Daily Fail Razia applied for the arts editor's job, only for it to be given to someone completely inexperienced for the role (to the extent he (apparently) failed the most basic criteria the job application required, such as A-Levels, huge experience in both broadcasting and journalism and formal qualifications. Because of this, and I am citing the Mail here, she was rather
ticked off
by it, her being a much better candidate, and appeared off screen for several weeks.
She returned in January some time - the first time I saw her was on the Ten when the woman who saved Anne Frank's diary died - she was credited as 'Special Correspondent' then too. I've always thought that was an odd name to be honest - 'Special Correspondent'... surely 'Special Affairs' (cite 'Home Affairs' as an example) or 'Special Reports' correspondent would be better?
